How you can experience the rush of flying birds of prey

After each show, you have the opportunity to receive the hawk, eagle or owl on your gloved hand for a price of DKK 550. We can be 4 people in the teams, and everyone experiences receiving the bird of prey on their hand and fly it 6-9 times under the expert guidance of our falconers.

We recognise that birds are living creatures with their own needs, opinions and instincts. All work with the birds is on their terms.

You can fly:

White-tailed eagles

When you fly with the white-tailed eagle, it becomes clear that this is a seriously powerful bird. These eagles can weigh up to 6 kilograms, so when you receive it on your glove, cooperation is key. You need to read its body language and work as a team.

For ages 12 and up.

You can fly:

Hawks

The hawk, weighing in at 700 grams, shows off its agile nature when it needs to fly to your glove. They are good navigators and can turn quickly and at close range. They are fast flyers, so you need to be alert and watch them carefully.

For ages 5 and up.

You can fly:

Owls

The 1.5 kg owl flies silently, which you will experiencet when you stand ready to receive it on your glove. Their approach to the glove requires a different technique than the birds of prey, so be prepared for a little dance.

For ages 7 and up.
Also depends on the size of the child.

Who can fly the birds?

We have different species of birds that are trained to work with different visitors*. Some of the eagles are big and powerful and you must be over 12 years old to work with them. From the age of 7 you can fly the owls, and from age 5 the hawks.

Four people can join a team with each bird.

*All our birds are especially trained to be able to fly for those with special needs such as people in wheelchairs, the blind, etc. Don't hold back if you want to feel the rush of our majestic birds.

The fascinating connection between animals and nature

Having a bird of prey or owl on your arm fills you with respect and humility. It's an experience that provides memories to last a lifetime, and can also help change your perception of wildlife and your approach to nature and its conservation. It can help people appreciate nature more and hopefully help protect and preserve it.

We had the great privilige of flying the great American Bald Eagle, Paco, in a private session. It was an amazing experience to get so close to such a big bird.

It gets all your emotions going and when you buy the extra "receive a bird" tickets it completes the whole show. The stories about the different birds and the amazing skilled falconers at the center were inspiring.

Would highly recommend a trip if you are going to Samsø. The highlights was definitely when my 6 year old son held the large bald eagle. Excellent service.
